MISSISSAUGA uses early goal to top TORONTO, 3-1

MISSISSAUGA took the lead against TORONTO in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 3-1 victory.

MISSISSAUGA took over the lead for good with a goal by Alex Rodriguez at 5:46 in the first period. Shana Walker assisted on the tally.

TORONTO was stymied by MISSISSAUGA netminder Alysia DaSilva, who stopped 42 shots during the victory. The solid play of DaSilva will be reflected in her goals against average, which pre-game was 1.16.

MISSISSAUGA was led by Lindsay Agnew, who registered one goal. Agnew scored 3:56 into the second period to make the score 2-0 MISSISSAUGA. Kaitlin Lowy picked up the assist.

MISSISSAUGA put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow TORONTO to score on any of its four power plays. MISSISSAUGA kept TORONTO's goalie busy throughout the game, and Sarah Stephens made 32 saves on 35 shots.

MISSISSAUGA also got a goal from Victoria Bach as well. More assists for MISSISSAUGA came via Stephanie Sucharda and Caitlyn Sadowy, who each chipped in one.

TORONTO was led by Jessie Eldridge, who scored the team's only goal. Eldridge scored 6:30 into the third period to make the score 2-1 MISSISSAUGA. Julia Fedeski provided the assist.
