TORONTO holds on for 4-2 win against BURLINGTON

TORONTO survived a determined comeback attempt by BURLINGTON on the way to a 4-2 win.

TORONTO made the score 4-1 on a goal by Jessie Eldridge at 18:43 in the third period, and BURLINGTON got as close as 4-2 when Shana Toale scored 19:33 into the third period.

BURLINGTON's power play was ineffective against TORONTO's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

TORONTO's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six BURLINGTON power plays. TORONTO forced BURLINGTON goalie Kyra OBrien to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots.

TORONTO was led by Jessica Gazzola, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Gazzola scored 16:40 into the third period to make the score 3-1 TORONTO. TORONTO also got points from Taytum Clairmont, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Loren Gabel also scored for TORONTO. More assists for TORONTO came via Julia Fedeski, Sabrina Repaci, Lauren Wildfang, and Sarah Knee, who each chipped in one.

BURLINGTON excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

BURLINGTON additionally got points from Jessie Rietveld, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for BURLINGTON were Logan Boyd, Tayor Reichheld (PU), and Maggie Spratt-Mallick, who contributed one a piece.

Sarah Stephens made 20 saves for TORONTO on 22 shots. TORONTO incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. OBrien rejected 33 shots on goal for BURLINGTON. BURLINGTON incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
