MISSISSAUGA survives WHITBY comeback, wins 2-1Iceland 2 Wed, Dec 11, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
WHITBY tried to dig itself out of a two-goal hole, but MISSISSAUGA held on for a 2-1 victory. A goal by Shana Walker put MISSISSAUGA up 2-0 in the third period, but WHITBY pulled to within one on Rhyen McGill's tally 19:05 into the third period. WHITBY managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. WHITBY wound up below its season average of 11.0 penalty minutes per game. WHITBY's offense operated below it season average. WHITBY puts an average of 3.6 pucks into the net per game. WHITBY forced MISSISSAUGA goalie Boughn to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots. More assists for WHITBY came via Megan Sullivan and Alana Sims (PU), who contributed one a piece. MISSISSAUGA incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors and had no power play opportunities. Kassidy Sauve recorded 25 saves for WHITBY. WHITBY registered zero goals on three power play opportunities.
