KINGSTON outlasts OAKVILLE, 4-2

KINGSTON and OAKVILLE were evenly matched throughout their contest, but KINGSTON made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-2.

KINGSTON gained the winning advantage on a goal by Mariah McCue 1:25 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

KINGSTON was paced by McCue, who finished with one goal.

KINGSTON put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow OAKVILLE to score on any of its four power plays. KINGSTON bested its season scoring average. This season, KINGSTON averages 1.6 goal per contest. The defensemen of KINGSTON were also effective in OAKVILLE's zone, and came away with two goals.

KINGSTON also had goals scored by Laura Turcotte, Jaclyn Bastedo, and Natalie Graham (PU), who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for KINGSTON were Shelby Perry (A), Brenna Murphy, and Erran Lee, who contributed one a piece.

OAKVILLE's offense rang up 38 shots on KINGSTON's net.

OAKVILLE was helped by Lauren Carroll, who racked up one goal. Carroll scored 12:23 into the first period to make the score 2-1 OAKVILLE. Christina Putigna provided the assist. Jordan Martin also scored for OAKVILLE. More assists for OAKVILLE came via Lauren Patterson, Kirsten Miller, and Cassidy MacPherson (PU), who each chipped in one.

Elizabeth Spinozzi made 36 saves for KINGSTON on 38 shots. KINGSTON incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. OAKVILLE's Stephanie Loukes stopped 25 shots out of the 28 that she faced. OAKVILLE incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
