TORONTO rips LONDON, 6-2

TORONTO had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-2 win over LONDON.

TORONTO got the win thanks to a great game by Taytum Clairmont, who had two goals and one assist. Clairmont scored the first of her two goals at 4:47 into the first period to make the score 1-0 TORONTO. Amanda Pantaleo (A) assisted on the tally. Clairmont's next tally made the score 3-0 TORONTO with 12:11 left in the first period. Loren Gabel picked up the assist.

TORONTO made LONDON's goaltenders to work without much rest, launching 31 shots and forcing 25 saves. Kassi Welch made 11 stops and Lauren Dubie made 14. TORONTO bested its season scoring average. TORONTO averages 3.7 goals per game.

TORONTO also got points from Pantaleo (A), who also had two goals and one assist. Others who scored for TORONTO included Sabrina Repaci and Breanne Wilson-Bennett (C-home), who scored one goal each. More assists for TORONTO came via MacKenzie MacNeil (A), Grace Wickens, Laura Ball, Lauren Wildfang (C-away), Kaitlin Tse, and Cora Constantinou, who each chipped in one.

LONDON's defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. LONDON averages 2.3 goals allowed per game.

LONDON was helped by Nicole Miners, who racked up one goal. Miners scored 5:52 into the second period to make the score 3-2 TORONTO. Jenna Gray (A) assisted on the tally. LONDON also got a goal from Rachel Chantler as well. In addition, LONDON received assists from Courtney Simpson, Grace Donaldson, and Michaeline Falla (C), who contributed one a piece.

Ally Sarna recorded 16 saves for TORONTO. TORONTO incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. LONDON incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
