KINGSTON holds on for 2-1 win against AURORA

KINGSTON survived a determined comeback attempt by AURORA on the way to a 2-1 win.

KINGSTON made the score 2-0 on a goal by Kailey Peirson at 9:20 in the second period, and AURORA got as close as 2-1 when Reagan Fuller scored 12:34 into the third period.

KINGSTON was led by goalie Jensen Murphy, who finished with 35 saves while allowing one goal. Murphy certainly lowered her goals against average, which was 2.71 entering the contest.

KINGSTON's penalty kill excelled, as KINGSTON gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

KINGSTON also got a goal from Shelby Perry (A) as well. In addition, KINGSTON received assists from Caitlin Lee, Erran Lee, and Mariah Wilson, who contributed one a piece.

AURORA excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. AURORA forced KINGSTON goalie Murphy to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

Other players who recorded assists for AURORA were Christine McCarthy and Emily Reier, who each chipped in one.

KINGSTON incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Taylor Lemmon made 24 saves for AURORA on 26 shots. AURORA incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
