OTTAWA came close to giving away a three-goal lead to CAMBRIDGE, but did just enough to escape with a 4-2 victory. OTTAWA led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when OTTAWA's Rebecca Leslie (C)'s scored at 12:59 in the third period to put OTTAWA up 3-0. Leslie (C) had two goals to lead OTTAWA to victory. OTTAWA's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three CAMBRIDGE power plays. OTTAWA additionally got points from Natalie Fraser, who also registered one goal and one assist and Samantha Bouley, who also had one goal and one assist. In addition, OTTAWA received assists from Leah Buchanan, Caitlyn McLaren, and Caileah Forrest, who each chipped in one. CAMBRIDGE managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. CAMBRIDGE ended up below its season average of 14.0 penalty minutes per game. CAMBRIDGE was helped by Julia Schnurr, who racked up one goal. Schnurr scored 13:23 into the third period to make the score 3-1 OTTAWA. Amanda McClure picked up the assist. Aylssa Chiarello also scored for CAMBRIDGE. Other players who recorded assists for CAMBRIDGE were Miranda Lantz, who had one. Tanya Winchcombe recorded 23 saves for OTTAWA. OTTAWA incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. CAMBRIDGE's Lauren Webber stopped 13 shots out of the 16 that she faced. |
