Mariani's big game bests WATERLOO in 3-1 MISSISSAUGA win

Behind a great game by Kelly Mariani, who had one goal and two assists, MISSISSAUGA defeated WATERLOO, 3-1.

Mariani scored 19:13 into the third period to make the score 3-1 MISSISSAUGA. Mariani dished an assist on Ainsley MacMillan's goal that made the score 1-0 MISSISSAUGA at 3:51 into the third period. He added another helper on Shana Walker's goal that made the score 2-1 MISSISSAUGA at 15:13 into the third period.

MISSISSAUGA's penalty kill excelled, as MISSISSAUGA gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

MISSISSAUGA was held below its usual level of production. MISSISSAUGA puts an average of 5.3 pucks into the net per game. WATERLOO was unable to stop MISSISSAUGA from sending pucks towards the net, and MISSISSAUGA eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. MISSISSAUGA's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as MISSISSAUGA finished with 16 penalty minutes.

WATERLOO could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game.
