WHITBY blows out SOUTHWEST, 5-1

WHITBY had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-1 win over SOUTHWEST.

WHITBY was sparked by CJ Tipping, who grabbed one goal. Tipping scored 5:06 into the first period to make the score 2-0 WHITBY. Cassidy Vinkle picked up the assist.

WHITBY made SOUTHWEST's goaltenders to work between the pipes, getting 50 shots and forcing 45 saves. Kayla Loberg made 24 stops and Hanna Slater made 21.

WHITBY also got points from Katelyn Rae (PU), who also registered one goal and two assists, Rhyen McGill, who also racked up two goals and one assist to lead the team in points, and Vinkle, who also tallied one goal and one assist. In addition, WHITBY received assists from Madison Badeau, who had two and Jamie Fox (PU), Emily Reid (PU), Briana Colangelo (PU), and Katie Mikkelsen (PU), who contributed one a piece.

Hannah Baker made 20 saves for WHITBY on 21 shots. WHITBY ended with no penalties and went 1-for-2 on the power play. SOUTHWEST incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors and had no power play opportunities.
