Huge game by McInnis boosts Great Falls over Bozeman, 6-2

The Great Falls Americans' Aaron McInnis had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 6-2 win over the Bozeman Icedogs.

McInnis scored at 12:35 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Great Falls and again while 15:04 into the second to make the score 3-1 Great Falls.

Great Falls excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Americans forced Bozeman goalie Devin Day to work between the pipes, taking 44 shots.

Great Falls also had goals scored by Lucas Lomax, who had two and Cody Page and Connor Barta, who scored one goal each. More assists for Great Falls came via Dylan Garton, Donovan Mattfeldt, and Steven Butts, who each chipped in one and Brady Christiaens and Lucas Stover, who contributed two a piece.

The Icedogs stifled Great Falls' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Bozeman was led by Nathan Luznar-Purdy, who registered one goal. Luznar-Purdy scored 16:47 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Bozeman. Ricky Green assisted on the tally. Gunnar Mogck also scored for Bozeman. In addition, Bozeman received assists from Trey Dolezal, JD Costantini, and Steven Nisbet, who each chipped in one.

Evan Hauser took the win and made 15 saves before being replaced by Erik Powell who made 13 saves. The Americans incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Icedogs' Day stopped 38 shots out of the 44 that he faced. Bozeman incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Icedogs ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Ryan Erickson was ejected from the game.
