Bozeman falls to Yellowstone in overtime, 6-5 (OT)

The Yellowstone Quake's Doug Keller scored 4:46 into overtime to beat the Bozeman Icedogs, 6-5 (OT).

Yellowstone surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, the Quake average 2.8 goals per contest. Yellowstone struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 34 penalty minutes for nine opposing power plays.

Yellowstone additionally got points from Jimmy Tich, who also tallied two goals and three assists to lead the team in points. Yellowstone also got a goal from Mike McCullen as well. More assists for Yellowstone came via Sawyer Scanlan, who had three, Cameron Hardiak and Connor Scovel, who each chipped in one, and Josh Neumann and Ryan Garvey, who contributed two a piece.

Bozeman's offense rang up 37 shots on the Quake's net. The Icedogs bested their season scoring average. Bozeman has scored at the pace of 2.4 goals per game during the current campaign. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with three goals.

The Icedogs were helped by Ricky Green, who registered one goal. Green scored on the power play 1:25 into the third period to make the score 5-4 Bozeman. Jason Demczak assisted on the tally. Bozeman also got points from Ryan Erickson, who also had one goal and one assist and Kenny Myers, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Bozeman also had goals scored by Jimmy Gephardt and Steven Nisbet, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Bozeman were Jake Nelson, Kegan Couture, Frank Sabato, and Nathan Luznar-Purdy, who each chipped in one.

Rocco Yapello recorded 32 saves for Yellowstone. The Quake registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Bozeman's Zach Skop stopped 23 shots out of the 29 that he faced. The Icedogs incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Bozeman ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Erickson was ejected from the game.
