Great Falls falls to Helena in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Helena Bighorns' Sebastian Hansson scored 2:20 into overtime to beat the Great Falls Americans, 4-3 (OT).

Although Helena was up by as many as three goals in the second period, Great Falls kept the game interesting by staging a comeback that ultimately fell short. The Americans pulled to within 3-2 on a power play goal by Aaron McInnis at 14:05 in the third period.

The Bighorns were led by Hansson, who racked up one goal and one assist.

Helena's offense operated below it season average. The Bighorns put an average of 6.1 pucks into the net per game. Helena kept Great Falls' goalie busy throughout the game, and Erik Powell made 43 saves on 47 shots. The Bighorns could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 30 minutes in penalties during the game.

Helena additionally got points from Theo Campe, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Helena also had goals scored by Dylan Webster and Brandt Miller, who scored one goal each. More assists for Helena came via Nick Okada, Damon Hanson, and Parker Olson, who each chipped in one.

The Americans forced Helena goalie Austin Brihn to work between the pipes, taking 44 shots.

Great Falls was led by Steven Goran, who registered two goals and one assist. Goran scored the first of his two goals at 5:54 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Helena. Dylan Garton picked up the assist. Goran's next tally made the score 3-3 with 5:28 left in the third period. Cody Page assisted on the tally.

The Bighorns' Brihn stopped 41 shots out of the 44 that he faced. Helena registered two goals on four power play opportunities. The Americans incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
