Early goals doom Glacier, falls to Great Falls, 7-0

The Great Falls Americans jumped out to a four-point advantage by the end of the first period and beat Glacier, 7-0.

Brady Christiaens had two goals and one assist to lead Great Falls. Christiaens scored the first of his two goals at 14:08 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Great Falls. Cody Page assisted on the tally. Christiaens' next tally made the score 6-0 Great Falls with 19:46 left in the third period. Max Kaercher picked up the assist.

The Americans forced Glacier's goalies to work without much rest, racking up 57 shots and forcing 50 saves. Pierre Gustafsson made 30 stops and Ethan Wiese made 20. Great Falls stifled Glacier's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Americans was steadier on the defensive front than they have been for much of this season. Great Falls averages 2.5 goals allowed per game. The Americans outdid their season average for goals scored. Great Falls averages 4.9 goals per game.

Great Falls also got points from Donovan Mattfeldt, who also registered one goal and three assists. Others who scored for Great Falls included Austin Nottke, who had two and Johnathan Carpenter and Erik Gatson, who each put in one. More assists for Great Falls came via Aaron McInnis, who had three and Austin Krantz, Dylan Garton, Doug Keller, and Zachary Mese, who each chipped in one.

Glacier was held below its usual level of production. Glacier averages 3.0 goals per game.

Evan Hauser recorded 21 saves for the Americans. Great Falls incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Glacier incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
