Helena outlasts Billings, 4-2

The game between the Helena Bighorns and the Billings Bulls was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Helena emerged with a 4-2 win.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Theo Campe at 18:00 of the second period.

The Bighorns were sparked by Corbin Belling, who finished with one goal. Belling scored 6:02 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Helena.

Helena excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Bighorns were held below their usual level of production. Helena averages 6.3 goals per game. The Bighorns' offense rang up 44 shots on Billings' net.

Helena additionally got points from Campe, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Helena also had goals scored by Austin Brihn and Matt Mohar, who scored one goal each. More assists for Helena came via Nick Okada, Austin Loes, Danny Case, and Brian Skillicorn, who contributed one a piece.

The Bulls were helped by Orri Haman, who registered one goal. Haman scored 5:11 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Billings. T J Theodosopoulos picked up the assist. Ralfs Karelis also scored for Billings.

Brihn recorded 22 saves for Helena. The Bighorns incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Billings' Daniel Oordt stopped 40 shots out of the 44 that he faced. The Bulls incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
