Austin Brihn recorded a shutout against the Yellowstone Quake as the Helena Bighorns picked up a 9-0 win. Dylan Webster had two goals and one assist to lead Helena. Webster scored the first of his two goals at 13:25 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Helena. Jacob Wolter assisted on the tally. Webster's next tally made the score 5-0 Helena with 4:10 left in the second period. The the Bighorns penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled 11 minors and two majors for 62 minutes in penalty time. Helena surpassed its season average of 22.0 penalty minutes per game. The Bighorns excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Helena's offense rang up 50 shots on Yellowstone's net. The Bighorns outdid their season average for goals scored. This season, Helena averages 6.4 goals per contest. The Bighorns got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. Helena also got points from Nick Okada, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Corbin Belling, who also had three goals and one assist, and Ryan Webber, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Helena also had goals scored by Damon Hanson and Parker Olson, who each put in one. More assists for Helena came via Matt Mohar, who had one and Logan Henne, who had five. The Quake racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 13 minors and two majors for 56 minutes in penalty time. Yellowstone had been averaging 25.0 minutes in penalties per game. Helena was unable to stop the Quake from sending pucks towards the net, and Yellowstone eventually piled up 34 shots on goal. The Bighorns' Brihn stopped 34 shots out of the 34 that he faced. Helena registered two goals on seven power play opportunities. For the Bighorns, Hanson was ejected from the game. Rocco Yapello recorded 41 saves for the Quake. Yellowstone ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Trent Carter was ejected from the game.
