The Bozeman Icedogs tried their best to erase a five-goal deficit, but the Gillette Wild would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 6-4.

A goal by Darren Banks put Gillette up 6-1 in the third period, but Bozeman pulled to within two on Ryan Erickson's tally 15:22 into the third period.

The Wild stifled the Icedogs' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Gillette kept Bozeman's goalie busy throughout the game, and John Bishop made 39 saves on 45 shots. The Wild outdid their season average for goals scored. This season, Gillette averages 2.9 goals per contest.

The Wild were led by Tj Mcminn, who registered one goal and one assist. Mcminn scored 3:26 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Gillette. Dylan Eldridge assisted on the tally. Gillette additionally got points from Will Fobair, who also had one goal and one assist and Banks, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Gillette also had goals scored by Brandon Miller, Dalton McCann, and Andrii Istominov, who scored one goal each. In addition, Gillette received assists from Tyler Reble and Jonathan Kasdorf, who each chipped in one and Greg Sauers and King A, who contributed two a piece.

The Icedogs racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with seven minors and two majors for 34 minutes in penalty time. Bozeman had been averaging 28.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Icedogs got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Bozeman also got points from Jake Nicks, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Bozeman also got a goal from Kegan Couture as well. More assists for Bozeman came via Gunnar Mogck, who had two and Chase Engdahl, Steven Nisbet, Patrick Anaruk, and Weston Blatter, who each chipped in one.

Gillette's starting goalie, Sean Kelley, made 21 saves and finished with the win before he was taken out in favor of Michael Kitts, who stopped one shot. The Wild totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 2-for-8 on the power play. Bozeman registered zero goals on four power play opportunities. The Icedogs ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Blatter was ejected from the game.
