The Helena Bighorns survived a determined comeback attempt by the Great Falls Americans on the way to a 4-3 win. Helena made the score 4-1 on a goal by Jacob Wolter at 18:42 in the second period, and Great Falls got as close as 4-3 when Lucas Stover scored 17:03 into the third period. The Bighorns got the win behind a great game by Wolter, who had two goals and one assist. Wolter scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 36 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-0 Helena. Helena had taken the advantage when the Americans' Connor Barta got sent off for tripping. Ryan Webber picked up the assist. Wolter's next tally on the power play made the score Helena with 1:18 left in the second period. Sebastian Hansson assisted on the tally. The Bighorns' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on eight Great Falls power plays. Helena kept Great Falls' goalie busy throughout the game, and Erik Powell made 53 saves on 57 shots. More assists for Helena came via Dylan Webster, who had two and Damon Hanson and Brandt Miller, who contributed one a piece. The Americans could not produce up to they normal offensive output.
