Kelley, Gillette blank Billings, 3-0

Sean Kelley recorded a shutout against the Billings Bulls as the Gillette Wild picked up a 3-0 win.

Gillette pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 12 penalty minutes.

The Wild were sparked by Darren Banks, who registered one goal. Banks scored on the power play 4:35 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Gillette. A cross checking penalty on Sam Orth had put Gillette on the power play. Alex King provided the assist.

The Wild's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Billings power plays. Gillette's defensive play was more effective than usual against Billings. The Wild allow 2.6 goals per game. Gillette forced the Bulls goalie Cole Semchak to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

Gillette also got a goal from Nick Mead as well. In addition, Gillette received assists from Moco Willis, who had two and Greg Sauers and Tj Mcminn, who contributed one a piece.

The Wild were unable to stop Billings from sending pucks towards the net, and the Bulls eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

Kelley recorded 32 saves for Gillette. The Wild registered one goal on six power play opportunities. Billings' Semchak stopped 31 shots out of the 34 that he faced. The Bulls incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
