The Gillette Wild relied on the scoring touch of Alex King, who netted two goals, to beat the Bozeman Icedogs, 3-1.

King's tallies came on the power play at 18:11 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Gillette and 20:00 into the third to make the score 3-1 Gillette.

Gillette's Sean Kelley was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 29 saves and let only one puck past him. The solid play of Kelley will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.76.

The Wild stifled Bozeman's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Will Fobair also scored for Gillette. Other players who recorded assists for Gillette were Greg Sauers and Collin Papesh, who contributed one a piece.

The Icedogs were led by Jason Demczak, who scored the team's only goal. Demczak scored 10:51 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Gillette. Kegan Couture provided the assist.

Gillette totaled 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors and two majors and went 1-for-2 on the power play. Bozeman's Zach Skop stopped 25 shots out of the 27 that he faced. The Icedogs totaled 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors and two majors and went 0-for-5 on the power play.
