Great Falls outlasts Yellowstone, 5-3

The game between the Great Falls Americans and the Yellowstone Quake was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Great Falls emerged with a 5-3 win.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Erik Gatson secured the win for the Americans with a goal in the third period.

Great Falls' penalty kill excelled, as the Americans gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.

Great Falls' offense rang up 45 shots on Yellowstone's net.

Great Falls also got points from Lucas Lomax, who also finished with one goal and two assists, Steven Goran, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, and Aaron McInnis, who also had one goal and one assist. Cody Page also scored for Great Falls. Other players who recorded assists for Great Falls were Austin Krantz, Donovan Mattfeldt, Zachary Mese, Brady Christiaens, and Patrick Anaruk, who contributed one a piece.

The Quake were led by Jimmy Tich, who racked up one goal and two assists. Tich scored short handed 8:39 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Yellowstone found itself down a man on Ross Mullen's elbowing. Mike McCullen assisted on the tally. Yellowstone also got a goal from Sawyer Scanlan as well. In addition, Yellowstone received assists from Ryan Garvey, who had one.

Evan Hauser rejected 26 shots on goal for the Americans. Great Falls incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Sean Leahy made 40 saves for the Quake on 45 shots. Yellowstone incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
