Glacier survived a determined comeback attempt by the Yellowstone Quake on the way to a 2-1 win. Glacier took a 2-0 lead during the third period, only to have Yellowstone storm back on a James Pyle goal 18:24 into the third period to pull to one goal down. Glacier's Pierre Gustafsson was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 34 saves and let only one puck past him. The solid play of Gustafsson will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.02. Glacier's penalty kill excelled, as Glacier gave up one goal despite allowing 13 power plays. The Glacier penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled 15 minors and one major for 45 minutes in penalty time. Glacier had been averaging 27.0 minutes in penalties per game. Glacier kept the Quake's goalie busy throughout the game, and Sean Leahy made 42 saves on 44 shots. Glacier was helped by Brett Fernandez, who tallied one goal. Fernandez scored 16:22 into the third period to make the score Glacier. Chris Cutshall provided the assist. Glacier additionally got points from Cutshall, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Glacier came via Paul Kinder and Jonas Svehn, who contributed one a piece. Yellowstone did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season.
