Great Falls rips Gillette, 6-0Great Falls Iceplex Sat, Oct 05, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Great Falls Americans were firing on all cylinders against the Gillette Wild, and when the final buzzer sounded Americans emerged with a 6-0 win. Great Falls was paced by Craig Bufford, who tallied one goal. Bufford scored 11:10 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Great Falls. Dylan Garton picked up the assist. The Americans forced Gillette's netminders to work between the pipes, ripping 35 shots and forcing 29 saves. Sean Kelley made 28 stops and Hunter Marsh made one. Great Falls put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Wild to score on any of their three power plays. Great Falls also got points from Garton, who also had two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Great Falls included Erik Gatson, who had one and Aaron McInnis, who had two. More assists for Great Falls came via Bridger Strong, Steven Goran, Zachary Mese, Brady Christiaens, Lucas Stover, and Evan Hauser, who contributed one a piece. Gillette did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Wild average 2.3 goals per game. Gillette was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 24 penalty minutes. Evan Hauser made 24 saves for the Americans on 24 shots. Great Falls totaled 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors and two majors and went 1-for-6 on the power play.
