Henne nets hat trick, leads Helena to 13-2 win over Yellowstone

Logan Henne netted a hat trick to lead the Helena Bighorns over the Yellowstone Quake, 13-2.

Henne notched his first tally 12:15 into the first period. He then added goals at 7:07 into the second and at 8:35 into the third.

Yellowstone's power play was ineffective against Helena's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

The Bighorns made the Quake's netminders to work without much rest, taking 57 shots and forcing 44 saves. Sean Leahy made 30 stops and Case Hansen made 14. Helena bested its season scoring average. The Bighorns average 7.0 goals per game. Helena got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game.

Helena also got points from Nick Okada, who also grabbed two goals and two assists, Jacob Wolter, who also racked up one goal and three assists, Parker Olson, who also tallied three goals and four assists to lead the team in points, Ryan Webber, who also had one goal and two assists, and Matt Mohar, who also registered one goal and one assist. Helena also got a goal from Theo Campe as well. In addition, Helena received assists from Sebastian Hansson, who had four.

Yellowstone did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Quake average 4.2 goals per game. The Bighorns were unable to stop Yellowstone from sending pucks towards the net, and the Quake eventually piled up 48 shots on goal. Yellowstone could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 30 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Quake were helped by Mitchell Fehd, who finished with one goal. Fehd scored 3:05 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Yellowstone. Josh Neumann picked up the assist. Yellowstone additionally got points from Jimmy Tich, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Yellowstone were Sawyer Scanlan and Cosimo Yapello, who contributed one a piece.

Helena's Austin Brihn stopped 46 shots out of the 48 that he faced. The Bighorns incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
