The Helena Bighorns tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Yellowstone Quake held on for a 4-3 victory. Yellowstone took a 4-2 lead during the third period, only to have Helena storm back on a Jacob Wolter goal 19:24 into the third period to pull to one goal down. Sawyer Scanlan was all over the ice for the Quake, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Scanlan scored 9:48 into the third period to make the score Yellowstone. Mitchell Fehd picked up the assist. Yellowstone's offense rang up 36 shots on the Bighorns' net. Yellowstone also got points from Fehd, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Josh Neumann also scored for Yellowstone. More assists for Yellowstone came via Jimmy Tich, who had three and New Player and Avery Lison, who each chipped in one. Helena put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Quake to score on any of their five power plays. The Bighorns kept Yellowstone's goalie busy throughout the game, and Rocco Yapello made 46 saves on 49 shots. Helena was helped by Sebastian Hansson, who registered one goal. Hansson scored on the power play 1:26 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Helena. Brian Skillicorn provided the assist. Helena additionally got points from Wolter, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Helena also got a goal from Theo Campe as well. In addition, Helena received assists from Damon Hanson and Ryan Webber, who contributed one a piece. The Quake incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Alek Lazarski made 32 saves for the Bighorns on 36 shots. Helena incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
