The Bozeman Icedogs tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Yellowstone Quake would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-3. Yellowstone took a 5-2 lead during the third period, only to have Bozeman storm back on a Garret Bryan goal 19:11 into the third period to pull to two goals down. Jimmy Tich had five goals to lead the Quake to victory. Tich notched his first tally 6:08 into the first period. He then added goals at 2:54 into the second, at 8:06 into the third, and at 9:31 into the third. Yellowstone forced the Icedogs goalie Nelson Navotna to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots. In addition, Yellowstone received assists from Mitchell Fehd, who had two, Trent Carter, who had three, and Edison Elder and Sawyer Scanlan, who each chipped in one. Bozeman stifled the Quake's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Icedogs kept Yellowstone's goalie busy throughout the game, and Sean Leahy made 35 saves on 38 shots. Bozeman was led by Gunnar Mogck, who had one goal and two assists. Mogck scored 6:10 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Kegan Couture provided the assist. Bozeman also got points from Couture, who also registered one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Bozeman were Chase Engdahl and Ryan Erickson, who contributed one a piece. The Quake totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with nine minors and one major and went 0-for-7 on the power play. Navotna recorded 29 saves for the Icedogs. Bozeman totaled 21 minutes in penalty time with eight minors and one major and went 1-for-8 on the power play.
