A hat trick by Jimmy Tich was the highlight in Quake's 7-2 win against the Bozeman Icedogs. Tich notched his first tally 4:37 into the first period. He then added goals at 13:42 into the first and at 11:56 into the second.The Yellowstone Quake pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 16 penalty minutes. Yellowstone's offense rang up 49 shots on Bozeman's net. Yellowstone additionally got points from Mike McCullen, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Yellowstone included Josh Neumann, who had one and Reed Kaiser, who had two. In addition, Yellowstone received assists from Trent Carter, who had four and Mitchell Fehd and Avery Lison, who contributed one a piece. The Icedogs forced the Quake's goalies to work all game long, firing 33 shots and forcing 31 saves. Rocco Yapello made 20 stops and Case Hansen made 11. Bozeman could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game. The Icedogs were helped by Gunnar Mogck, who grabbed two goals. Mogck scored the first of his two goals at 14:10 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Yellowstone. Ryan Erickson provided the assist. Mogck's next tally made the score 4-2 Yellowstone with 12:05 left in the second period. A checking from behind penalty on Fehd had put Bozeman on the power play. Erickson picked up the assist. Other players who recorded assists for Bozeman were Kegan Couture and Austin Nottke, who each chipped in one. Yellowstone registered one goal on four power play opportunities. The Icedogs' Zach Skop stopped 42 shots out of the 49 that he faced. Bozeman registered one goal on six power play opportunities.
