Gillette stifles Glacier's comeback, gains 4-2 victoryStumptown Ice Den Fri, Sep 20, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Gillette Wild came close to giving away a three-goal lead to Glacier, but did just enough to escape with a 4-2 victory. Gillette led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Wild's Kaden Hummell's scored at 3:25 in the second period to put Gillette up 4-1. Darren Banks was all over the ice for the Wild, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Banks scored the first of his two goals at 3:08 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Gillette. Nick Mead assisted on the tally. Banks' next tally made the score 3-0 Gillette with 8:40 left in the first period. Jonathan Kasdorf picked up the assist. Gillette put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Glacier to score on any of its four power plays. Glacier was unable to stop the Wild from sending pucks towards the net, and Gillette eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. Alex King also scored for Gillette. Other players who recorded assists for Gillette were Michael Burke, who had one. Glacier excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Glacier's offense rang up 34 shots on the Wild's net. Glacier was helped by Paul Kinder, who registered one goal. Kinder scored 7:13 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Gillette. Padraic Ripple assisted on the tally. Glacier also got a goal from John Tesarek as well. In addition, Glacier received assists from Brett Fernandez, Chase Lazelle, and Ethan Wiese, who each chipped in one. Gillette's Sean Kelley stopped 32 shots out of the 34 that he faced. The Wild incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Wiese rejected 31 shots on goal for Glacier. Glacier ended with 41 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major.
