The Fayetteville FireAntz tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Peoria Rivermen would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-2. Peoria took a 4-1 lead during the third period, only to have Fayetteville storm back on a Kevin Kessler goal 19:28 into the third period to pull to two goals down. The Rivermen were paced by Adam Hartley, who tallied one goal and one assist. Hartley scored 13:16 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Peoria. The 32 shots that Peoria put on net surpassed the Rivermen's average of 19.7 shots per game this season. Peoria additionally got points from Garrett Vermeersch, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Peoria also had goals scored by Adam Feniak and Robert Vanwynsberghe, who each put in one. In addition, Peoria received assists from Nick Prockow, Jarrett Rush, Joe Schiller, and Taylor Larsen, who each chipped in one. The defensemen of the FireAntz were also effective in Peoria's zone, and came away with two goals. Fayetteville put 31 shots on net during the contest, more than the 19.7 it averages per game. The FireAntz were led by Zach Carriveau, who registered one goal and one assist. Carriveau scored on the power play 14:30 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Fayetteville. Fayetteville had taken the advantage when the Rivermen's Cole Ruwe got sent off for boarding. John Clewlow assisted on the tally. Other players who recorded assists for Fayetteville were Michael Zannella, who had one. Kyle Rank recorded 29 saves for Peoria. The Rivermen incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
