Adam Hartley had one point to lead the Peoria Rivermen to a 4-1 victory over the Bloomington Thunder. Peoria put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Bloomington to score on any of its five power plays. With 25 shots on target during the contest, the Rivermen exceeded the 19.2 shots they average per game this year. Peoria also got points from Alexandre Mentink, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Peoria also had goals scored by Taylor Larsen and Robert Vanwynsberghe, who scored one goal each. In addition, Peoria received assists from Joe Schiller, who had three and Cole Ruwe, Matt Viola, Dean Yakura, and Ben Oskroba, who each chipped in one. The Thunder racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with seven minors and one major for 29 minutes in penalty time. Bloomington had been averaging 25.0 minutes in penalties per game. The 21 shots that the Thunder put on net surpassed Bloomington's average of 18.5 shots per game this season. The Thunder were led by Mike Henderson, who scored the team's only goal. Henderson scored 10:29 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Harry Mahesh assisted on the tally. Kevin Carr rejected 20 shots on goal for Peoria. The Rivermen incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Max Strang recorded 21 saves for Bloomington. The Thunder ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Dennis Sicard was ejected from the game.
