Bloomington beats Huntsville 1-0 as OBrien gains shutout

BJ OBrien recorded a shutout against the Huntsville Havoc as the Bloomington Thunder picked up a 1-0 win.

Mike Henderson's game-winning tally was the game's only goal. It came at 13:25 in the third period. A slashing penalty on Eric Alexander had put Bloomington on the power play. Nic Polaski picked up the assist.

The Thunder were sparked by Henderson, who racked up one goal.

Bloomington's defensemen also contributed in the offensive zone and ended up with 14 shots between them. By firing 34 shots on goal, the Thunder exceeded the 20.6 shots they average per game this year.

More assists for Bloomington came via Curtis Megginson, who had one.

Huntsville did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Havoc put an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game. Huntsville put 40 shots on net during the contest, more than the 28.6 it averages per game.

The Havoc were led by Nick Lazorko, who took nine shots.

BJ OBrien made 40 saves for Bloomington on 40 shots. The Thunder incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Kevin Genoe rejected 33 shots on goal for Huntsville. The Havoc incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
