Mississippi RiverKings could not complete its climb out of a two-goal hole. Knoxville made the score 2-0 on a goal by Berkley Scott at 19:09 in the first period. Mississippi RiverKings got to within 2-1 on a power play goal by Burke Gallimore at 9:46 in the third period.

The Ice Bears got the win thanks to a great game by Scott, who had one goal and two assists.

Knoxville's defensemen played well offensively, producing two goals while racking up 13 shots.

Jason Price also scored for Knoxville. More assists for Knoxville came via Brady Vandenberk, Francis Drolet, and Bryan Hince, who contributed one each.

Mississippi RiverKings put 42 shots on net during the contest, more than the 28.7 it averages per game.

Mississippi RiverKings also got points from Todd Hosmer, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Mississippi RiverKings were Leo Thomas and Andrew Randazzo, who each chipped in one.

Hince recorded 40 saves for the Ice Bears. Knoxville totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. Dan McWhinney made 25 saves for Mississippi RiverKings on 28 shots. Mississippi RiverKings totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-6 on the power play.
