The Pensacola Ice Flyers relied on the sparkling performance of Ross MacKinnon in net to grab a 2-1 win against the Knoxville Ice Bears.

Pensacola was led by John Dunbar, who had one goal. Dunbar scored 10:57 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Pensacola. Ryan Salvis picked up the assist.

The Ice Flyers stifled Knoxville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Pensacola's offense was clicking better than usual and put 29 shots on goal during the game, better than the 25.0 shots per game it averages.

Joshua Turnbull also scored for Pensacola. In addition, Pensacola received assists from Brett Lutes and Corey Banfield, who each chipped in one.

The defense for the Ice Bears played an important role offensively, racking up 15 shots on goal. With 31 shots on target during the contest, Knoxville exceeded the 25.5 shots it averages per game this year.

The Ice Bears were led by Ben Power, who scored the team's only goal. Power scored 17:22 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Knoxville. Francis Drolet assisted on the tally.

Ross MacKinnon made 30 saves for the Ice Flyers on 31 shots. Pensacola totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Bryan Hince rejected 27 shots on goal for Knoxville. The Ice Bears totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-4 on the power play.
