Huntsville downs Bloomington, 4-0

Eric Alexander racked up one point to lead the Huntsville Havoc to a 4-0 victory over the Bloomington Thunder.

Huntsville's defensive effort looked to be improved. The Havoc allow 2.9 goals per game. Huntsville put 39 shots on net during the contest, more than the 28.3 it averages per game.

Huntsville also got points from Nick Lazorko, who also had one goal and one assist and Mike Gurtler, who also registered one goal and one assist. Ray Ortiz also scored for Huntsville. Other players who recorded assists for Huntsville were Kyle Frieday, who had two and Stuart Stefan, Justin Cseter, Scott Harff, and Josh Harris, who contributed one a piece.

Bloomington's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Huntsville power plays. The Thunder's offense operated below they season average. Bloomington puts an average of 2.4 pucks into the net per game. The Thunder's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Bloomington finished with 27 penalty minutes. The Thunder relied on a core group of players for most of their offense, as Travis Granbois, Nic Polaski and Reid MacLeod took 13 of the team's 20 shots. Bloomington's defensemen bolstered the Thunder's offensive attack, as they bombarded Jesse Kallechy with nine shots.

Kallechy rejected 20 shots on goal for the Havoc. Huntsville ended with 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and three majors. BJ OBrien made 35 saves for Bloomington on 39 shots. The Thunder registered zero goals on one power play opportunities.
