Fayetteville falls to Bloomington in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Bloomington Thunder's Kyle Watson scored 2:28 into overtime to beat the Fayetteville FireAntz, 3-2 (OT).

Bloomington was paced by Watson, who finished with one goal and one assist.

The Thunder excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The 40 shots that Bloomington put on net surpassed the Thunder's average of 20.9 shots per game this season.

Bloomington additionally got points from Nic Polaski, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Travis Granbois also scored for Bloomington. Other players who recorded assists for Bloomington were Peter Cintala, who had two and Jay Pietrasiak and Paul DAgostino, who each chipped in one.

Fayetteville forced Bloomington goalie Max Strang to work between the pipes, taking 45 shots.

The FireAntz were helped by Matt Smyth, who finished with one goal. Smyth scored 51 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Fayetteville. Derek Elliott picked up the assist. Fayetteville also got a goal from Nick Craven as well. More assists for Fayetteville came via Kyle McNeil and Chris Greene, who contributed one a piece.

Max Strang made 43 saves for the Thunder on 45 shots. Bloomington incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Peter Skoggard recorded 37 saves for Fayetteville. The FireAntz incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
