Huge game by Harris boosts Huntsville over Knoxville, 6-3Knoxville Civic Coliseum Thu, Jan 23, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
Josh Harris had two goals and one assist to lead the Huntsville Havoc to a 6-3 victory over the Knoxville Ice Bears. Harris scored at 8:01 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Huntsville and again while 18:12 into the third to make the score 5-3 Huntsville.Huntsville's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Knoxville power plays. The Havoc surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Huntsville averages 3.6 goals per game. The Havoc relied on a core group of players for most of their offense, as Harris, Nick Lazorko and Scott Harff took 15 of the team's 29 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with three goals. Others who scored for Huntsville included Leland Fidler, Dominic Osman, and Kyle Frieday, who scored one goal each. In addition, Huntsville received assists from Stuart Stefan, Ray Ortiz, and Brock Sawyer, who each chipped in one and Justin Cseter and Mike Gurtler, who contributed two a piece. Knoxville stifled Huntsville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Ice Bears were helped by Ben Power, who racked up one goal and two assists. Power scored 11:16 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Eric Satim assisted on the tally. Knoxville also got points from Satim, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Mark Van Vliet also scored for Knoxville. Other players who recorded assists for Knoxville were Francis Drolet, who had three. Jesse Kallechy made 23 saves for the Havoc on 26 shots. Huntsville totaled 26 minutes in penalty time with three minors and two majors and went 0-for-4 on the power play. The Havoc ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Eric Alexander was ejected from the game. Knoxville's Bryan Hince stopped 23 shots out of the 28 that he faced. The Ice Bears ended with 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major.
