Bryan Hince was superb between the pipes for the Knoxville Ice Bears, as he did not allow a goal in a 3-0 victory over the Fayetteville FireAntz. Knoxville was sparked by Eric Satim, who racked up one goal and one assist. Satim scored 19:18 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Knoxville. Ben Power picked up the assist. The Ice Bears' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Fayetteville power plays. Knoxville's defensive play was more effective than usual against Fayetteville. The Ice Bears average 3.0 goals allowed per game. Knoxville's offense was clicking better than usual and put 41 shots on goal during the game, better than the 24.9 shots per game it averages. Knoxville additionally got points from Power, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Knoxville also got a goal from Andrew Dovey as well. Other players who recorded assists for Knoxville were Jeremy Klaver and Francis Drolet, who each chipped in one. The FireAntz stifled the Ice Bears' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Fayetteville did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Ice Bears totaled 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 0-for-3 on the power play. Peter Skoggard recorded 38 saves for the FireAntz. Fayetteville ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major.
