Peoria downs Bloomington in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Peoria Rivermen pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Bloomington Thunder on a clutch goal by Garrett Vermeersch.

By firing 37 shots on goal, Peoria exceeded the 22.6 shots it averages per game this year.

In addition, Peoria received assists from Steve Morra, who had three and Joe Schiller, Taylor Larsen, and Charlie Carkin, who each chipped in one.

Bloomington put 29 shots on net during the contest, more than the 22.9 it averages per game.

The Thunder were helped by Dennis Sicard, who registered one goal. Sicard scored short handed 13:36 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Bloomington. A charging call on Kyle Watson put Bloomington on the penalty kill. Peter Cintala also scored for Bloomington. More assists for Bloomington came via Travis Granbois, who had one.

The Rivermen's Eric Levine stopped 27 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Peoria incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. BJ OBrien rejected 34 shots on goal for the Thunder. Bloomington incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
