Ross MacKinnon recorded a shutout against the Knoxville Ice Bears as the Pensacola Ice Flyers picked up a 3-0 win. Pensacola was sparked by Justin Alonzo, who grabbed one goal. Alonzo scored on the power play 13:11 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Pensacola. A hooking penalty on Lucas Chavira-Schramm had put the Ice Flyers on the power play. Corey Banfield assisted on the tally. Pensacola's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Knoxville power plays. The Ice Flyers' defense was surprisingly good. Pensacola gives up 2.7 goals on average per game. Pensacola additionally got points from Ryan Salvis, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Malcolm Lyles also scored for Pensacola. More assists for Pensacola came via Steve Whitely, who had one. Knoxville managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Ice Bears ended up below its season average of 23.0 penalty minutes per game. Knoxville could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Ice Bears put an average of 2.8 pucks into the net per game. Knoxville was led by Jon Higgins, who took four shots. The Ice Flyers' MacKinnon stopped 27 shots out of the 27 that he faced. Pensacola incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Bryan Hince rejected 23 shots on goal for the Ice Bears.
