Matthew Robertson tallied one point to lead the Louisiana IceGators to a 2-1 victory over Mississippi RiverKings.

Louisiana excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The IceGators were below their usual level of shot production, taking 21 shots compared to the 26.4 Louisiana averages.

Louisiana also got a goal from Kirk Byczynski as well. In addition, Louisiana received assists from Shawn McNeil, Jason Cohen, Chris Wilson, and Adam Stuart, who each chipped in one.

Mississippi RiverKings was led by Matt Whitehead, who scored the team's only goal. Whitehead scored 6:39 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Todd Hosmer provided the assist.

The IceGators' Matt Zenzola stopped 23 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Louisiana totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. Dan McWhinney recorded 19 saves for Mississippi RiverKings. Mississippi RiverKings ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major.
