Dominic Osman finished with two points to lead the Huntsville Havoc to a 5-1 victory over the Louisiana IceGators. Huntsville relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Osman, Justin Fox and Nick Lazorko took 15 of the team's 25 shots. Stuart Stefan also scored for Huntsville. In addition, Huntsville received assists from Leland Fidler, Justin Cseter, and Josh Harris, who each chipped in one and Ray Ortiz and Brandon Perry, who contributed two a piece. Louisiana excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The IceGators were below their usual level of shot production, taking 18 shots compared to the 27.5 Louisiana averages. The IceGators were held below their usual level of production. Louisiana averages 3.5 goals per game. The IceGators were led by Shawn McNeil, who scored the team's only goal. McNeil scored on the power play 10:38 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Louisiana had gotten the advantage when the Havoc's Lazorko was sent off for high sticking. Kevin Genoe made 17 saves for Huntsville on 18 shots. The Havoc ended with seven minutes in penalty time with one minor and one major. The IceGators' Matt Zenzola stopped 20 shots out of the 25 that he faced.
