The Bloomington Thunder relied on the sparkling performance of BJ OBrien in net to grab a 2-1 win against Mississippi RiverKings.

Bloomington's penalty kill excelled, as the Thunder gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

Bloomington was paced by Daniel Barczuk, who registered one goal. Barczuk scored 7:30 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Bloomington. Kevin Walrod provided the assist.

The Thunder stifled Mississippi RiverKings' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. By firing 30 shots on goal, Bloomington exceeded the 23.9 shots it averages per game this year.

Dustin Hopfner also scored for Bloomington. More assists for Bloomington came via Travis Granbois and Tyler Noseworthy, who each chipped in one.

Mississippi RiverKings' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Bloomington power plays. Mississippi RiverKings' offense rang up 31 shots on the Thunder's net.

Mississippi RiverKings was led by Charles LaChance, who scored the team's only goal. LaChance scored 6:55 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Daniel Sobotka picked up the assist.
