Bryan Hince stood on his head and made 25 saves to lead the Knoxville Ice Bears to a 3-1 victory over the Columbus Cottonmouths.

Knoxville was led by Jon Higgins, who tallied one goal and one assist. Higgins scored on the power play 8:11 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Knoxville. The Ice Bears had taken the advantage when Columbus' Tory Allan got sent off for tripping. Francis Drolet provided the assist.

Knoxville racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with four minors and three majors for 53 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 23.0 minutes per game the Ice Bears had been spending in the box.

Knoxville additionally got points from Drolet, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Eric Satim also scored for Knoxville. Other players who recorded assists for Knoxville were Cody Dion, Jeremy Klaver, Mark Van Vliet, and Jason Price, who each chipped in one.

The Cottonmouths forced their penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up seven minors and three majors for 29 minutes in penalty time. Columbus surpassed its season average of 25.0 penalty minutes per game.
