Huntsville beats Mississippi Surge 6-0 as Kallechy gains shutout

The Huntsville Havoc used a sparkling performance by Jesse Kallechy to take down Mississippi Surge, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Huntsville's 6-0 shutout victory.

The Havoc were led by Nick Lazorko, who racked up one goal. Lazorko scored 1:47 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Huntsville. Justin Cseter picked up the assist.

Huntsville's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Mississippi Surge power plays. The Havoc's defense was surprisingly good. Huntsville allows 2.6 goals per game. The Havoc outdid their season average for goals scored. This season, Huntsville averages 3.9 goals per contest. The 42 shots that the Havoc put on net surpassed Huntsville's average of 30.0 shots per game this season.

Huntsville also got points from Rob Florentino, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Mike Gurtler, who also had one goal and one assist, and Josh Harris, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Huntsville included Ray Ortiz and Justin Fox, who scored one goal each. In addition, Huntsville received assists from Leland Fidler, Dominic Osman, and Scott Harff, who contributed one a piece.

Kallechy rejected 30 shots on goal for the Havoc. Huntsville totaled 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and three majors and went 1-for-3 on the power play.
