Mississippi RiverKings survived a determined comeback attempt by the Huntsville Havoc on the way to a 3-1 win. Mississippi RiverKings made the score 3-0 on a goal by Tom Craig at 17:14 in the second period, and Huntsville got as close as 3-1 when Justin Cseter scored 17:19 into the third period. Mississippi RiverKings was led by goalie Dan McWhinney, who finished with 30 saves while allowing one goal. McWhinney managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.67 prior to the game. Mississippi RiverKings excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Mississippi RiverKings was helped by Daniel Sobotka, who grabbed one goal. Sobotka scored on the power play 9:07 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Mississippi RiverKings.
