Huge game by Gurtler boosts Huntsville over Columbus, 6-2Columbus Civic Center Sun, Nov 17, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Mike Gurtler had one goal and three assists to lead the Huntsville Havoc to a 6-2 victory over the Columbus Cottonmouths. Gurtler scored on the power play 7:00 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Huntsville. Huntsville earned a power play opportunity when Kyle Johnson was put in the box for holding. Rob Florentino assisted on the tally. Gurtler dished an assist on Justin Fox's goal that made the score 1-0 Huntsville at 1:23 into the first period. He then added assists on Nick Lazorko's goal at 6:03 into the first and on Josh Harris's goal at 13:29 into the third.Columbus' power play was ineffective against the Havoc's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. Huntsville forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up eight minors and three majors for 31 minutes in penalty time.
