Levine stymies Fayetteville, Peoria wins 2-1Crown Coliseum Sat, Nov 16, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Eric Levine stood on his head and made 26 saves to lead the Peoria Rivermen to a 2-1 victory over the Fayetteville FireAntz. Peoria was paced by Nick Prockow, who tallied one goal and one assist. Prockow scored short handed 8:01 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Peoria. The Rivermen found themselves down a man on Dustin Parks's slashing. Charlie Carkin picked up the assist. Peoria stifled Fayetteville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Rivermen's offense was clicking better than usual and put 34 shots on goal during the game, better than the 28.4 shots per game they average. Cole Ruwe also scored for Peoria. The FireAntz put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Peoria to score on any of its five power plays. Fayetteville was led by John Clewlow, who scored the team's only goal. Clewlow scored short handed 5:29 into the third period to make the score 1-1. The FireAntz were on a disadvantage when Brett Liscomb went off the ice for unsportsmanlike conduct. The Rivermen incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Kyle Rank recorded 32 saves for Fayetteville. The FireAntz incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
