Louisiana outlasts Pensacola, 4-2Cajundome Sun, Nov 03, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Louisiana IceGators escaped with a 4-2 victory over the Pensacola Ice Flyers. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Bret Peppler secured the win for Louisiana with a goal in the third period. The IceGators were led by Peppler, who finished with one goal. Peppler scored 14:42 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Louisiana. Shawn McNeil provided the assist. Louisiana's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Pensacola power plays. The IceGators were below their usual level of shot production, taking 25 shots compared to the 32.2 Louisiana averages. Louisiana additionally got points from McNeil, who also registered one goal and one assist and Matthew Robertson, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Jeremey Boyer also scored for Louisiana. In addition, Louisiana received assists from Chris Wilson, Jake Trask, Adam Stuart, and Kirk Byczynski, who each chipped in one. Pensacola ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major.
