The Louisiana IceGators took the lead against Mississippi RiverKings in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 2-0 victory. Louisiana took over the lead for good with a goal by Jeff Grant at 17:42 in the first period. The IceGators had taken the advantage when Mississippi RiverKings' Tyler Melancon got sent off for hooking. Jake Trask assisted on the tally.Louisiana was led by Grant, who registered one goal.
