Huntsville outlasts Fayetteville, 4-2Crown Coliseum Fri, Oct 25, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Huntsville Havoc escaped with a 4-2 victory over the Fayetteville FireAntz. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Stuart Stefan secured the win for Huntsville with a goal in the third period. Nick Lazorko had a great game for the Havoc, netting two goals. Lazorko's tallies came at 6:49 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Huntsville and 5:33 into the third to make the score 3-1 Huntsville. Huntsville stifled Fayetteville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Huntsville also got points from Stefan, who also registered one goal and one assist. Huntsville also got a goal from Justin Fox as well. In addition, Huntsville received assists from Justin Cseter, Ray Ortiz, Brandon Perry, and Matt Singleton, who contributed one a piece. The FireAntz's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Huntsville power plays. Fayetteville relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Zach Carriveau, Bobby Reed and Evan Chlanda took 12 of the team's 22 shots. The defense for the FireAntz played an important role offensively, racking up nine shots on goal. More assists for Fayetteville came via Corey Toy, Tom Janosz, Brandon Richardson, and Chris Greene, who each chipped in one. Jesse Kallechy rejected 20 shots on goal for the Havoc. Huntsville incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Dan Dunn recorded 24 saves for Fayetteville. The FireAntz totaled 35 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 0-for-3 on the power play. Fayetteville ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Richardson was ejected from the game.
