Wingham wins tough contest against Kincardine, 4-2

The Wingham Ironmen and the Kincardine Bulldogs were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Wingham made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-2.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Ryan McNeil at 9:18 of the second period.

Aaron Armstrong had one goal and three assists to lead the Ironmen. Armstrong scored 8:33 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Brett Brophy provided the assist.

Wingham put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Kincardine to score on any of its three power plays. The Ironmen forced the Bulldogs goalie Mitch Campbell to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

Wingham also got points from Jamie Huber, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Justin Jacklin also scored for Wingham.

Kincardine's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Wingham power plays. Wingham was unable to stop the Bulldogs from sending pucks towards the net, and Kincardine eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

The Bulldogs were led by Cody Britton, who registered one goal and one assist. Britton scored 19:26 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Wingham. Sam Feagan picked up the assist. Kincardine also got a goal from Tanner Simpson as well.

Jaden Shrier recorded 29 saves for the Ironmen. Wingham incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Mitch Campbell made 31 saves for Kincardine on 35 shots. The Bulldogs incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
